Shopping list Generator Help
There are 2 ways to use the application: managed and unmanaged. Unmanaged allows to create your own shopping list, while managed allows you to create a shopping list for a user based on their individual needs.
To run the application unmanaged, just select the Press to Begin button in the middle of the home screen. This will bring you to the shopping list window.
To create a list, tap the tools icon in the upper right corner of the screen. Then tap the “Add” button that appears in the upper left corner of the screen. Enter the shopping list name Enter a description. This description should be no more than four or five words in length. The option lock User to List will not be functional on this mode. Press done. Tap the image icon if you want to change the shopping list image. Tap SAVE to save the List information entered, or select back to start over. Both options will bring you back to the Shopping lists screen. You are still in edit mode, so you can repeat this process to enter more lists.
To edit the list information, tap the list name. This takes you to the List screen with the current information for the list filled in. You may edit the information from this screen by tapping on the field you wish to change. You can also delete a list while in edit mode by tapping the red icon to the left of the list name on the list screen. A red Delete button will appear on the right. Tap the Delete button to remove that name from the list. When you are finished, tap the Check Mark in the upper right corner to leave edit mode. This will bring you back to the List screen. You can now add some items to your list.
To add an item to a list, tap the list name. This takes you to the List items screen with the current items for the list filled in. You can add an item by selecting the shopping cart icon located on the upper right corner. This will bring you the items categories window.
To access to the item in a category, tap the name of the category. This gives you the list of all the items that belong to this specific category.
To select an item, tap on the item name. This will bring you to the item details window. From here, you can
- Enter the item price: tap on the price field. This gives you the select price window. Use the picker to choose the item price then press done
- Enter the quantity of the item you wish to buy: tap on the quantity field. This gives you the quantity window. Use the picker to select the desire quantity, then press done.
- Enter the Aisle where you can find the item. For example 34. This description should be no more than four or five words in length. Press done.
Tap on the photo icon if you want to change the item image. Press save to go back to the category items. From here you can enter another item from the same category.
Press category if you want to select another category. From the category window select back to go back to the list items. From the list items, press back to go back to the shopping lists. From the shopping lists window, Select the Quit button in the upper left corner to exit to go back to the User Login screen.
MANAGED MODE
To run the application managed, you must log in to the application. This help feature will cover how to use the management system in detail. In order to use the program managed, you must first add a user into the system..
ADDING A USER
To add a User to the Functional Skills System applications, follow these simple steps: On the main screen of the application, select the Administrators Icon in the lower left corner. This will bring up the Administrator Login screen.

On the Administrator Login Screen, enter the administrator first name, last name and password. Touch the blank box to bring up the keyboard. The administration password is “Conover” (all lower case).
Tap the “Done” button and then tap the LOGIN button to enter the application.
To add a user, tap the tools icon in the upper right corner of the screen. Then tap the “Add” button that appears in the upper left corner of the screen.
- Enter the User’s first name
- Enter the User’s last name
- Enter a description. For example, Mrs. Smith’s Class. This description should be no more than four or five words in length.
- Press done.
There is another option on this screen:
User can edit list: This option can be turned on or off, and allows you to enable or disable the ability of the user to edit the shopping list you made for him. If this option is turned on, the user will be able to make some change on the list; for example adding, removing items or changing items quantity. You may want to disable the user can edit list feature if the user is easily distracted or doesn’t have to make any change with the list. Users will still be able to access to the list even if the user can edit list feature is disabled.
The Security Settings can also be changed for a user. Tap the Security Settings Button.
PASSWORD PROTECTED: This option can be turned on and off, and allows administrators to protect access for each user entered into the application with a password. Turning this option on requires a password to be entered each time the user logs in to the application. If you wish to use this option, turn the option on and enter a password for the user.
LOCK TO USER: This option can be turned on and off, and allows administrators to lock the application to a specific user. When this option is selected, only the selected user can use the application. If you lock the application to a user, it will remove any locks that have been set for previous users. You may only have one lock active at a time. Tap the Done button in the upper left corner of the screen when the information entered is correctly, or tap the cancel button to go back to the Add/Edit User screen. Tap “SAVE” to save the User information, or select cancel to start over. Both options will bring you back to the Users List. You are still in edit mode, so you can repeat this process to enter more users.
To edit a User’s information, select the User’s name. This takes you to an Add/Edit User screen with the current information filled in. You You may edit the information from this screen by tapping on the field you wish to change.
You can also delete a User while in edit mode by tapping the red icon to the left of the User’s name on the User List screen. A red Delete button will appear on the right. Tap the Delete button to remove that name from the Users list.
When you are finished, tap the CHECK MARK in the upper right corner to leave edit mode. Select the Quit button in the upper left corner to exit and go back to the User Login screen.
To enter or edit Administrators, tap the Administrators button on the bottom left of the User List screen. You may enter, edit and delete Administrators in the same way you enter, edit and delete users.
MAKING A SHOPPING LIST FOR A USER
To make a shopping list for a user in the Functional Skills System applications follow these simple steps:
Launch the application by clicking on the Application Icon as you see here.
From the main screen, select the Administrator‘s icon to bring up the Administrator Login screen.

From the Administrator Login screen, enter the administrator first name, last name and password:“conover”" (all lower case) is the default name and password to enter in each of the three boxes the first time you log in. The first and last names will automatically be capitalized, but you should enter the information in lower case. Press Done. Then press Login.
Select the User icon in the lower left corner of the screen. To begin creating a User shopping list, tap the name of a user. This brings up the Shopping list for that user.
To create a list, tap the tools icon in the upper right corner of the screen. Then tap the “Add” button that appears in the upper left corner of the screen. Enter the shopping list name Enter a description. This description should be no more than four or five words in length. The option lock User to List will not be functional on this mode. Press done.

From the category window select back to go back to the list items screen. When you are satisfied with your selections, press back to go back to the shopping lists screen. .
You can review this user’s shopping list before going back to the Users screen. Tap the User button in the upper left corner to go to the Users screen. Tap the Quit button to exit back to the FSS User Login screen. Select the Quit button in the upper left corner to exit and go back to the User Login screen.
VIEWING A SHOPPING LIST
To view a shopping list in the Functional Skills System applications follow these simple steps:
Launch the application by tapping on the Application Icon as you see here.
On the main screen, select the User Login icon in the lower right corner of the screen to bring up the user Login screen.

On the User Login screen, enter the user’s first name, last name and password. “John Doe” is the default name and “password” is the default password to enter the first time you log in. If you’ve created a user, enter their information now.
After you type in the name and password, press Done. Then press Login.
Select the shopping list you wish to view.
A list of the shopping items will be presented to you organized on categories. When you select a specific item in the list you will have an overview of the item. Item name, Price, quantity and Aisle. .
There are two more options, the GOT ITEM button and the customer service icon.
The GOT ITEM button allows you to check the item off your list. Touch this button only if you have the item in your shopping basket. By touching this button, you will be redirected to the items list with a green check mark on the specific item. The items without a green check mark are the items you still need to buy.
The application is built utilizing text to speech. By touching the customer service icon on your right, the application will read you what you should get for the specific item. When you get all your items, tap the back button to go back to the shopping list window. Select another list or tap the quit button in the upper corner left to exit the application.
