In 2010 Steve Jobs was quoted as saying, “Apple does not support flash because it is so buggy….whenever a Mac crashes more often than not it’s because of Flash. The world is moving to HTML 5.” At the same time these quotes were spoken, we were deep in thought about our new product – Conover Online. Our product development team was having preliminary conversations about how we wanted to build it. This pertinent quote was not the only thing that prompted us to build our programs in HTML 5, but as we saw the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch grab the market the way it did, we wanted to make sure that our product worked on iOS devices.

What Exactly is HTML 5?
According to PC Magazine HTML 5 was designed to provide a comprehensive application development platform for web pages that eliminates the need to install third-party browser plug-ins such as Java or Flash. In other words, programs and web pages that were written in HTML 5 work without having to install any extra programs on your computer or device. This is great news because people generally don’t trust downloads and schools don’t let you download anything without administrative rights, so it becomes a hassle to use these extra programs and add-ons.
